An Iranian Christian has been released from prison in the southern city of Shiraz, reports Middle East Concern.
Soroush Saraei had been in prison since July 2014 and was serving a two-and-a-half-year sentence for “action against national security” and “propaganda against the order of the system”.
He was arrested alongside fellow Christian Mohammad Roghangir, who was sentenced to six years. They were part of a group of seven Christians in Shiraz, who were first arrested in October 2012 after a raid on a prayer meeting. The others were given sentences between one and five years. They are all part of the self-styled ‘Church of Iran’.
