Fides Agency has reported that bombings carried out by the US-led coalition against the Islamic State (IS) in the Nineveh plain have destroyed a church.
The Church of the Resurrection near Qaraqosh was targeted because reports said IS jihadists occupied it as a logistics base.
They had removed its cross from the roof. Before mid-August, it had been used by Syriac Catholics and by other Christians – predominantly for funerals, as it was close to a cemetery.
