Click below for CNN’s exclusive interview with Mariam Ibrahim, the Christian mother who was given a death sentence for apostasy.
Ibrahim who is still in Sudan’s capital, Khartoum, said, “there’s a new problem every day” including a potential long-term disability of her daughter which doctors fear was caused by the circumstances of Mariam being shackled during the baby’s birth.
“I gave birth chained. Not cuffs but chains on my legs. I couldn’t open my legs so the women had to lift me off the table. I wasn’t attached to the table.” said Ibrahim.
Within 24-hours of being released from prison Ibrahim was back in police custody under new charges of falsifying her travel documents during her family’s efforts to leave Sudan.
