An Iranian pastor, his wife and two members of his church have begun one-year prison sentences following unsuccessful appeals.
Pastor Farhad Sabok-Rooh and his wife Shahnaz were jailed on May 1 alongside Naser Zamen-Defzuli and Davoud Alij for “converting to Christianity, inviting Muslims to convert, and propagating against the Islamic regime through promoting Evangelical Christianity.”
The original sentence was passed in October 2012, while the initial arrests were made at the currently closed Assemblies of God Church in Ahvaz in December 2011.
