Reuters is reporting that Tanzania has arrested four men from Saudi Arabia and four Tanzanians in connection with Sunday’s bombing of a new Catholic church that has claimed two lives so far and injured 60.
The attack in Arusha, in a northern and predominantly Christian region of Tanzania, occurred during the official opening of the church, which was attended by the Vatican’s ambassador to Tanzania, Archbishop Francisco Montecillo Padilla. He was not hurt, Reuters said.
Reuters said an Arusha regional commissioner confirmed that the four Saudis had arrived in the country on Saturday, and were stopped late Sunday as they tried to cross the border into Kenya.
